NYC 6721
Title:  NYC 6721
Description:  Date very approximate. I took this with my old Kodak Instamatic back when the NYC #6721 was on static display at Dayton's Carillon Historical Park. It has long since been moved, and is now located outside the Utica, NY, Union Station.

Ohio Railway Museum, circa 1983
Title:  Ohio Railway Museum, circa 1983
Description:  Submission #600. Date approximate, but its way back when I had more hair, and less waist. This engine was in tough shape when this photo was taken--I hate to think what kind of condition it's in now. I can remember a time back in the early 1960's when they would still fire up #578. I don't think she's had a fire in her belly for a long, long time.

Interurban Car #2
Title:  Interurban Car #2

CR 24016
Title:  CR 24016
Description:  Another skillfull attempt to hide a train behind vegetation. A short coal drag slowly ambles along the former Penn Central double track main between Dayton and Springfield. Before belonging to Conrail, the track was part of the New York Central system. The NYC obtained the track from the old Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad (a.k.a. the "Big Four" Railraod) early in the 20th Century. The other track was once part of the Erie Railroad system. Not long after this shot was taken, the former Erie track was pulled up. This shot was taken from the Wright Brothers Memorial located between Wright Field and Patterson Field which together make up the current Wright-Patterson AFB.

Conrail 8062
Title:  Conrail 8062
Description:  Not my best work, but please note how skillfully I placed a tree right in front of the engine. A lone GP38 leads a short coal drag along the former Penn Central double track main between Dayton and Springfield. Before belonging to Conrail, the track on which #8062 is traveling was part of the New York Central system.

A load of Brownies
Title:  A load of Brownies
Description:  GP7 #55, in old Indiana and Ohio livery, prepares to take a load of Brownies on an excursion. After this picture was taken in 1995, this tourist line became the Turtle Creek & Lebanon Railroad. It has since been renamed again, and is now the Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad.

Title:  A long wait...
Description:  The retired PRR passenger depot at Ada, Ohio. Given the condition of the tracks, it will probably be a long wait for the next train. PRR caboose 477779 is on permanent display in the adjacent park.
